It’s a Flamenco Tour to España
When: October 22 – November 3, 2012
Where: Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucía
What: A flamenco trip including…
A workshop including live cante (singing) and guitarra catered especially to you by Mercedes Ruíz (She is wonderful and beautiful and fabulous – an incredibly talented dancer who takes extreme pride in teaching.)
A sherry tour
A room in a cute apartment in the historic Barrio San Miguel
And some more.
Who: You, if you’re interested.
Really, this trip can be for anyone. You may be an experienced flamenco or you may be an absolute beginner. Perhaps you’ve been to Spain before, perhaps this will be your first trip. There will be two levels of workshops, so don’t worry, you’ll be ok.
What do I have to figure out? Not a lot really. Which is good because it can be hard for us to figure things out in Spain. On the trip you’ll have time to do your own thing and time with the group.
How do I find out more? Get on the list HERE for updates. Even if you can’t possibly imagine being able to go, join the list! It can’t hurt. And that way, if I ever do this again, which I certainly hope to, you’ll be in the know.
How is Mercedes as a teacher? Good. Very, very good. And she makes you feel at ease…which is not always the case with teachers in España.
Will there be opportunities to study with other teachers? Yes! If you want more, there are additional teachers I recommend in Jerez and can set you up in classes with. I’ll tell you more about that soon.
How does Mercedes dance? Well. Really, really well. See her dance below… (In the middle video she’s dancing with one of my other favorite teachers, Marco Flores)
