Bulerías Solidification of it All

So, NOW is the time
This FINAL workshop of the Understanding Bulerías Series is about taking all of the material and concepts studied thus far and sinking it deeply into our brains.  Serious solidification so that we’re ready  for the next series of bulerías workshops coming later in 2012.  [New concepts, new challenges, the fun never ends...really, it doesn't.]

Good because I want to keep working on and solidifying what I learned in the Ins & Outs and Bulerías sín Cante
Here we’ll take what was learned in the November and December workshops and further enhance our understanding of it all.

In this workshop we will:

Continue practicing hearing what we need to hear in the cante – in cante that varies – and responding as we need to respond.   (We know this practice is never-ending.)
Become more comfortable with the compás in general.
Become more comfortable with the jaleos as they relate to the baile and the compás.
Strengthen our execution of the moves.
Play around with our choreographies, mixing & matching within the structure.
Strengthen our palmas.
Clarify any questions that arise.

The study of bulerías is an ongoing process.  Think of this final workshop as a time to become VERY comfortable responding to the cante and the compás, as a time to allow both the dance moves and the jaleos to happen more naturally.

Will there be additional tools to help us?
Yes, you’ll be supplied with a bulerías e-workbook, a tool to help you organize all of this information.

Will we learn new material?
Possibly, but our point here is for the material we have learned so far (three choreographies and one jaleos “song”) to flow freely.  To be able to access it without struggle, to understand why we do things where we do them in the dance.  It is also to deepen our understanding of the compás and to be able to execute our jaleos with animo and confidence.  We will play with the pieces we have, see what it feels like to mix and match the moves we already have.  Perhaps we’ll learn some new moves that can be substituted, we’ll play this by ear.

Yes, you must have taken the Ins & Outs of Bulerías.
