May I observe a class?
Claro que sí! Stop by anytime and watch any class you’d like. You may also feel free to stay and watch the class after yours or come early and observe the one before…
What type of shoes do I wear to class?
If you don’t have flamenco shoes, it is best to wear a shoe with a hard sole and a bit of a heel. However, if that is not comfortable for you feel free to wear any footwear you feel comfortable in.
What type of clothing should I wear to class?
Something comfortable that you can move easily in. Exercise or yoga pants are good and a t-shirt or tank top. Women may wear a full skirt, but it is not required. Some people love the dressing up part so they like to wear little scarves, etc, whatever makes you feel good that allows you to move your arms up.
What if I don’t have a skirt or flamenco shoes?
We have practice skirts that you may borrow in the studio. Feel free to use them anytime. There are also shoes there for sale that you are welcome to try out first. (Sorry men; we currently have nothing for you to wear, perhaps I need to get a vest or something to leave in the studio…)
Where do classes take place?
Beginning February 1, 2012 all class will be held at the Stomptown Collective. It is located in the AudioCinema Building @ 226 SE Madison Street, Portland, OR 97214, five blocks away from OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry) Close to city center and bus #4, #6 #14 and just off the East Bank Esplanade.
How do I pre-pay for a class ?
You can pre-pay by sending a check to: Portland Flamenco Events PO Box 25581 Portland, OR 97298-0581 or you can contact me and pay with a credit card.
How do I pay for class the day of?
We have a self check-in station. When you upstairs to the studio, there is a table to the left. Here you will find a sign-in book. Sign yourself in and leave your payment in the little box. (You will also find change/class cards in the box.)

Why should I study flamenco?

What if I’ve never done flamenco or any type of dance?
No problem at all. We have students of all levels. We will give you the tools you need to be able to do this.

What if I am taking from another teacher?
Wonderful! I believe it is beneficial to expose yourself to different styles of teaching and dancing.
Do you teach anywhere else in town?
Yes, I teach residencies and workshops at different schools and dance schools in the metro area. These are mostly for children.
But what if I want to take with a fantabulous dancer directly from España?
Join the mailing list! We host regular workshops and master classes with professional dancers who are a part of the current flamenco scene in Spain and we organize tours to take classes in Spain which you might like to do as well!
