Advanced/Intermediate Comprehensive Baile
More demanding movement and rhythm patterns than our other movement classes. Combination of body technique, turns, footwork combinations with more complex patterns, greater speed and choreography. Learn and perfect a dance to later use for a solo! Understand the different parts of the dance and learn how to adapt it to different situations and how to communicate to the musicians what you need.
current choreography – Tangos
It’s tangos time! For the next 6 weeks, building up to Emilio’s arrival, we’ll focus on tangos. I’ll be teaching some super-cool moves that I learned from Ricardo during his second workshop here (whoa, back in 2007…You’ll love them.) During class we will have time for dancing in small group and/or alone, getting more comfortable with “improvisational” tangos and dancing independently and feeeeeling it. Since we’ll have a choreography to use we don’t really need to improvise, we just respond to the music. Each class with technique exercises and finish with tangos.
