Hola, soy Laura, the founder of this flamenco business.  Thanks for stopping by.  Here you can learn about classes, workshops, shows, and events in the Portland area and beyond with local artists as well as maestros from Spain, you can read the blog and learn more about me and my experiences and those of many of my flamenco friends, you can get some basic flamenco info, tips, links to more information…stuff like that.

I’m here to learn and to share what I’ve come to know about flamenco.

Somehow I identify with this form of expression.

It helps me to see myself.  It allows me to get in touch with parts of me that I didn’t know I could.  It introduces me to great people.  It is completely FUN!

I do this flamenco thing because I love…

learning about it
studying it
doing it
enjoying it with others
what it does for my body, my soul, my brain
the challenges it presents to me on sooooo many levels
that the more I learn the more I realize how much I have yet to learn...endless challenge   

I will never be española; I will never be gitana.  I will always just be Laura and feel and express this incredible art form, flamenco, in my way.  Through flamenco, this arte from Spain, I discovered that I feel very me when doing it, when experiencing it.  ¡Me siento muy Laura y me encanta eso!  And I invite you, if you desire, to join me in feeling and expressing it in your way.  Flamenco is not exclusive; if it speaks to you, you can access it.
