Tell Me This Happens to You

by Laura on January 22, 2013

Tell me I’m not alone

Dime que no estoy sola

When I have to stop what I’m doing and close my eyes.  Cerrar mis ojos y pararme.

Because I hear something too beautiful not to.  Not to stop.  To listen, to take it in, to feel.  And to let myself cry.

Close my eyes and stop

to

just

listen.

And then do it again.

Tell me you know what I mean

Dime que entiendes

Tell me I’m not alone

Dime que no estoy sola

Tell me this happens to you

Dime que te pasa lo mismo

When you hear a song like this…

Tell me this happens to you.

I wish I could understand the letra.
I can speak, read and write Spanish – but understanding lyrics is a whole other story.
Could you post them? I hope someday flamenco will move my soul so I can dance from the heart and not just from memorizing the steps.

You can read the final letra that he sings here: http://portlandflamencoevents.com/2013/01/a-magic-bridge-viernes-con-una-letra/ (It’s the one from last Friday. Here he sings it as tientos, not tangos) And, yes, I will absolutely post the rest of the song, perhaps this Friday…

It happens to me often. Actually, it can be distracting when I’m trying to get work done, and my family finds it strange and amusing, but YES! I know what you are talking about.

Thanks, Julie. I love the part about your family.

You are not alone. It happens to me a lot, I am overcome and drifting in the music, time standing still.
Amazing letras. Thanks for sharing Laura.
